Video: Swan Song: The first teaser trailer for Amy and Rory’s final episodes on ‘Doctor Who’
I’ve no clue as to when this video, the first teaser trailer for season 7 of BBC’s ‘Doctor Who’ actually hit the interwebs, but I myself just saw it. Thank you late night internet browsing, I was indeed going through withdrawal. And after the news broke last week that Jenna-Louise Coleman had been cast as the new companion replacing my dear beloved Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill (Mrs and Mr. Pond, respectively), watching it made me just a little bit sad.
I want the new season to start right this instant, but also to hold off for as long as possible. I hate goodbyes. I was a blubbering mess when David Tennant left the series, and I don’t want to think about how much I’m going to miss Karen and Arthur/Amy and Rory. They quickly became two of my favorite companions in the history of the show (don’t tell Donna Noble).
So while I’m going through ‘Doctor’ withdrawal, I think I am OK with the fact the only timeframe we got from this trailer (which I gathered premiered at the first official ‘Doctor Who’ convention on Saturday) is that the new season is “coming soon.” I don’t want to think about losing the girl and the boy who waited just yet. So I’m going to do some of my own waiting over here in the land of blissful ignorance for a little while longer.
